Free Director of Health Services - RN

The Director of Health Services (HSD) utilizes clinical nursing skills to support the coordination, documentation and communication of medical services to adults with developmental disabilities that meet or exceed Commonwealth and organizational standards. The HSD requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across functions and business segments, healthcare providers and vendors. Reporting to the CEO will manage the health care team and partner on the Senior Management team.

Responsibilities:

A strategic leadership role on an interdisciplinary team, the Director collaborates with the CEO and Senior Managers in the development of healthcare strategies, and assures full implementation of key strategies to meet organization goals for quality care, service, and financial results.
Anticipates and communicates changes in the national and local healthcare environment, effectively frames critical strategic issues and interprets implications for the organization.
Facilitates curriculum development and provides oversight to the delivery of engaging employee instruction that effectively prepares qualified staff to demonstrate safe, thoughtful, and collaborative delivery of care.
Provides staff trainings and leads the training of MAP and other mandated programs.
Ensures that healthcare coordinators deliver high-quality, professional standard instructional services. Supports, coaches and provides direction, mentoring and evaluation of front-line healthcare coordinators’ performance.
· Is adept at building effective relationships with medical providers, staff, families and guardians and drives healthcare coordination activities to ensure goals of individuals served are consistently achieved or exceeded.
o Manages all external relationships in a manner that conveys high credibility and confidence. Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale functional projects and their supporting technical/operational processes.
The HSD synthesizes the results of data analytics, surveys, on-site observations and other relevant information to prepare detailed, well-written, comprehensive assessments and recommendations related to improving effectiveness, efficiency, and strategic value of the healthcare delivery system.
Uses clinical knowledge, communication skills, and independent critical thinking skills toward interpreting criteria, data, policies, and procedures, regulations and best practices to advocate for the most appropriate treatment, care or services for individuals served.
Coordinates and communicates with providers or other parties to facilitate optimal care and treatment. Develops and provides trend reporting and analysis to identify opportunities, goals and develops plans to meet those goals.
Provides input into cross-functional operational initiatives and identifies opportunities for performance improvement.
Through the healthcare coordinators, ensures all support staff are well-trained with current certifications. The highly qualified candidate must be flexible, adaptable and be a leader of both people and process.
Preferred Qualifications

Master's in Nursing Degree preferred
Previous experience within the organization healthcare service operation
Demonstrates a high degree of organizational skill and time management for multiple competing priorities
Demonstrates a high level of sophistication with data and information analytic
Demonstrates an ability to quickly adapt and manage through a changing environment
Demonstrates a high level of emotional intelligence and ability to develop rapport
Demonstrates the ability to effectively navigate change including technological innovations
Must be passionate about making active contributions to an organization focused on continuous quality improvement
