Free Die Cutter Operator-2nd Shift

Job Duties:

• Follow order specifications/special instructions and ensure all production materials are at cutter prior to set-up.

• Determine the best utilization of master sheet, cutting to customers’ specifications.

• Set up and operate cutting machine with high proficiency.

• Operate assigned cutter by performing required adjustments, maintenance, and maintaining consistent quality.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all company safety policies.

• Follow all procedures and report unsafe conditions.

• Verify dimensions of cut parts match work order.

• Identify poor quality material and notify supervisor.

• Measure to ensure specified dimensions of sheets.

• Observe operation of machine to detect malfunctions such as jamming wrinkling or tearing of material.

• Stop machine to make required adjustments.

• Replace worn cutting blades.

• Completes and processes all related documentation via PC or tablet.

• Record maintenance and service calls in maintenance logbook as required

• Trains, assists, and supports other team members in problem solving and meeting department goals.

• Continuously reviews current processes.

• Searches out improvement methods to improve product/process quality and reduce waste.

• Perform general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within department/group and assists other areas as required.

• Conduct regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective action on equipment to achieve maximum machine performance based on equipment specifications and acquired knowledge of machine operations.

• Manage role with an understanding of changing priorities, sense of urgency, execution of results and support for the team.

• Inspect finished product before releasing to internal or external customers.

• Understand how to setup cutting software

• Must have good vision including ability to review color

• Read and follow work orders and production schedules

• Able to work with management to achieve company goals

• Accept direction from supervisors, management and peers to improve quality and performance

• Work together with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance

• Lift 50 lbs
  

Must Have Requirements:

• Experience using a sheet fed Bobst die cutter for folding cartons
